Mahi-River

Mahe River is also popularly called as Mayyazhipuzha. The total length of the Mahi River is 54 kms long river. It starts flowing from the forest of Wayanadhills on the western slopes. It covers an area of about 394 sqkms.  It passes through the places like Azhiyoor, Peringalam, Tripangathur, Eramala, Vanimel, Edachery, Bhekiyad, Olavilam, Narippetta, Iringanoor, Kariyyad, Kacheri, Iyyancode, and Kunnamakkara. Northern limit of the Mahe town is enclosed by the Mahe River and the earlier French settlement is situated within 6 kms from the south side of the Thalaserry at Kannur district.
