Cheruvathur is one of the villages in Kasargod district. It is situated within the 58 km away from southern side of Kasargod town. It is located within 10 km away from south of the Nileshwar. The name Cheruvathur is derived from Cheriya Pathu Ooru which means ten small places. Currently the name Cheruvathur is changed as Kuttamath Nagar. It is one of the attractive tourist destinations in Kasargod district.

Other Attractions

It is also abode to famous scholar and poet Kuttamath Kunniyur family who is the famous scholar in Malayalam literature. Other attractive tourist destinations in this place are Cheruvathur Kotta Palli Veeramala hills and Dutch fort. Dutch fort is said to have been constructed in 18thcentury in the Veeramala hills.
